Overview

The Leap Preschool Curriculum was published in 2007 as Building Language Throughout the Year: The Early Literacy Preschool Curriculum. This 41-week teacher's guide offers theme-based learning through activities designed to build literacy and language skills in young students.

How It Works

The Leap Preschool Curriculum shows teachers how to utilize Leap Language Techniques that build children's vocabulary, listening, memory, sentence formation, grammar and social interaction skills. The activities offered in this research-based curriculum foster quality interactions between teachers and children, and prepare preschoolers for the challanges of kindergarten and the early elementary grades.

The Leap Preschool Curriculum:

  • Helps teachers succeed by offering explicit instructions for implementation
  • Specifically addresses the needs of children from low-resource backgrounds
  • Aligns with every part of the Head Start Outcomse framework
  • Is easy to use with existing programs
  • Helps parents continue the learning at home
